  • So after a month of messing around with NordVPN. Changing settings, constant connection issues, running two streams, the vpn works on one and not the other, changing countries etc… I ditched NordVPN…

I could not stop freezing issues with one of my streams no matter what I tried. Downloaded expressVPN and boom works flawlessly. I really do not comprehend what is happening but every time I activate NordVPN so many connections in various countries wouldn’t allow my Z11 Pro to connect to the Steam. At first I thought my ISP was messing with me, but thus far my issues disappeared with ExpressVPN

  • I am using NORDvpn on two providers (setting to autoconnect) and dont have any problems whatsoever,on the contrary on one provider i had constant 409 errors and they completely disappeared after installing NORD vpn.

  • With NordVpn I had various issues primarily bandwidth ranging from 5mbps to 150mbps. After changing my subscription from dynamic to a fixed IP its always +100mbps & reconnect issues reduced substantially to ~1/wk for a minute or so. Before discovering this, I tried ExpressVPN, and it would not work with my router no matter how much Support tried to make it work. After two weeks I just gave up and canceled it.

  • I’ve been using NordVPN for a number of years, initially I had the same teething problems but after setting a static IP address, setting the protocol in NordVPN to OpenVPN (UDP) and disabled IPv6 in Z11 network settings, I haven’t had any issues.

I’ve also installed an app called TECHDOCTORUK cache cleaner, I clear the app cache before using, prior to installing, I just cleared the app cache manually, I think this is important for better viewing experience

  • So I take what I said about NordVPN back... Yes, I have rid myself of NordVPN, however, now running into same issues with ExpressVPN. For example, had Express up and running. In my area it connects to a New Jersey location, both streams on Z11 were working just fine. Now a few nights in a row, one stream works and the other comes up with a connection error. I have to continuously change locations to get this to work properly. First question, are there specific settings someone could recommend? I don't believe my providers are blocking VPN's but this is driving me nuts, particularly with a cranky wife! LOL

As mentoned earlier,i never had any issues with NORDvpn (most simple setting autoconnect)

In your case i would reach out to the NORD support team, they can give you the most adequate service!

  • I am a Nordvpn user and it works very good for me. Tried express and had problems yet it works good for others. I found that you generally have to try a few locations before getting one that works good for you. My son is with a different internet provider and the location I use does not work so good for him and the one he uses isn’t so good for me. I use Auto connect and have used the same location for over a year without problems. Just an “fyi”, I started using a vpn due to internet provider throttling. Which they denied doing , yet only happens while streaming and disappears when using a vpn 🤔.

  • Interesting and I appreciate your post. I’m having a hell of a time with this. Example, using expressVPN the only county location I can get to work is Italy. Now I’m running two steams simultaneously on a Z11. One stream is working with all connections and my second stream only works with Italy but eventually will lose its connection and I get the circle which is a connection error. I then have to turn off VPN

  • Server Error: HTTP 456

    Be suited to Sweden #---

I accidentally connected to Netherland - Sweden #--

Switched back to Sweden and now no channels are displayed.

    Black square.

Have seen that there are two ways to download the NordVPN app.

From Market (vers. 5.17.1) or GooglePlay.

I have installed from Market version: 5.17.1 and there is no update.

If I go to GooglePlay there is an update to 6.18.1.

    Which version should I use?

    Maybe it works with 6.18.1?

  • Always try newest first. So from google play.

    let us know.

  • Hi,did you look for updates on Market Nordvpn.

I also used the one from Market, and if you click in the app on the right upper quadrant the little bell icon you can see if there are updates available.

  • No freezing of the image and my IP number is hidden by the provider.

Shows full strength at top right. Three full marks.

Sorry, but i can no longer follow the discussion about the usefulness of NORDvpn,or any other vpn,as i remember clear posts by SAM and adrilang, that clearly state that a thing like a built in provider vpn does not exist.

I also got the advice of one of my providers that i dont need vpn in the Netherlands,as they offer built in vpn, whereas on my other provider i clearly benefit from the use of NORDvpn.

So who can shed a clear vision on the matter?

  • So who can shed a clear vision on the matter?

    Absolutely simple:

    - You want to be safe and not to be tracked, use VPN.

    - You don`t care about it, don`t use VPN.

Sure, there are some providers using security scripts but for them selfs.

You know only what you do but never what others do or set, no matter what they say.

Second it depends from your country and law how they look on all of this providers.

At end it depends all from user and how he want to protect him self, against ip tracking and collecting data from him in internet.
