  • Installed new update, still having some refresh issues. Click refresh and boom kicks out of MOL2, reopen it and all my channels just disappear. Restart box open MOL2 back up and everything back to normal. Also have had this issue when opening up VOD then switching back to tv, channels just disappear have to restart box and then tv back to normal with all channels appearing. Not sure if I’m the only one dealing with this but just wanted to point out to possibly look at for future updates. Thanks all!

  • I just bought a Formuler Z8 Pro for a friend and installed the Z8 Pro, therefore I could compare the two (my own Z10 Pro Max to the Z8 Pro) side by side.

    I did an interesting discovery that might explain (some of the) remarcs others have with regards to the (from their perspective inferior) picture quality of the Z10 Pro Max compared to the Z8 (Pro):

    On the Z8 Pro, the system (automatically) set the Video Color Space & HDMI deep color to: YCbCr444 8 bit and the picture was excellent, bright, rich colors, high contrast/deep black values.

    On my Z10 Pro Max, I used the AUTO settings for the image. Auto resolution, Auto HDR. which results in my Video Color Space & HDMI deep color setting to be set to: YCbCr 420 8 bit. So different from the Z8 Pro. And when comparing the image quality I must admit thet the Z8 produced a richer image, deeper blacks, richer colors...

    So I changed the YCbCr 420 8 bit setting of my Z10 Pro Max to YCbCr444 8 bit. After that the image was of identical quality as the Z8 Pro.

    BUT... after closing MOL2 and restarting MOL2 the setting for YCbCr444 8 bit was reset to the auto value of YCbCr 420 8 bit ....

    I found out that this was caused by the HDR setting, which was set to AUTO.

    Once I manually changed the HDR Output mode to OFF, and Color Space Settings to YCbCr444 8 bit and the Display Mode to 4K 60 Hz, the settings did not change anymore and the pricture quality of the Z10 Pro Max was just as high as with the Z8 Pro.

    So apparently the Image related settings for the Z10 Pro Max (Sreeen resolution->Display Mode, Color Space Settings, HDR Output Mode), when set to AUTO, select different values when compared to the Z8 Pro, and in my situation the Z8 Pro values give a much better result.

    Now, this could well be (only) related to my specific setup, so milage could vary, but it could very well be that playing around with these settings on your Z10 Pro Max give identical improvements.

    My advice to test: Set the HDR Output Mode to OFF, play around with the various Color Space Settings (do NOT select AUTO), and set the Display Mode to the desired resolution (do NOT select AUTO) and see if you notice any improvement in image quality, picture stuttering, etc.

    @ SAM: This is definitely something for the development team of Formuler to look into and verify.

  • MyTV app is fine here. Also in the beta version. I only had frame problems with the official software from 14-12-2021 with mytv app

    Extra note:just watched a football game… no frame problems. The image was very blury. Tried the same channel on another box (no %10 pro max) and no problem. Good quality.

    I still have frame problems with thr dutch KPN app…. I also had the frame problems in that app with the last beta. I did not not have frama problems in that app with the official 14-12-2021 software. The app itself did not have an update.

  • the problem with the surround sound is always present when it is activated impossible to change the volume with the remote control of the box

    I know this is a reporting issue thread however if you’re using an IR1 remote why don’t you simply use the learning function for the remote and pair the volume select from your surround sound remote to your IR1 and then you’ll be able to control your surround sound volume with the Formuler remote?

    If you have the BT1 it’s not possible to do that but certainly if you have the other, I’d go down that route

  • Je sais qu'il s'agit d'un fil de discussion sur les rapports, mais si vous utilisez une télécommande IR1, pourquoi n'utilisez-vous pas simplement la fonction d'apprentissage de la télécommande et associez la sélection du volume de votre télécommande de son surround à votre IR1, puis vous pourrez contrôler le volume de votre son surround avec la télécommande Formuler ?

    Si vous avez le BT1, ce n'est pas possible de le faire, mais certainement si vous avez l'autre, je choisirais cette voie

    I have the original remote control and even if I had the other one, it's very difficult to change and it's not a small difference in volume but a big one.

    Use the Android System volume controls

    - Formuler remote app -> GTV-BT1 -> Setup volume control -> Android System Volume

    You can adjust the volume of the device with the RCU right and left key.

  • And the annoying when the formuler wake up the tv every night. Fix it please, its so frustrated to shut down the formuler every night. I want the formuler to go to sleep. For every new update everything gone worse.

    Turn off CEC function

    Home -> settings -> Device Preferences -> HDMI CEC -> *disble HDMI Control*

    There is no need to fix anything in this case!

    PCM (Auto off) full control with Box RCU.

    Raw (Auto on with Surround Sound) your AVR or Soundbar RCU controls sound volume, because the box just forward Audio to end device.

    Here the same, nothing to fix, in this case are your settings wrong! Please check your HDMI CEC settings and set your desired combination like you need, off or 1-2 settings on but not all on same time on.

    It is important to get to know the box and settings you change.

  • I just noticed that the Color space setting gets reset to YCbCr 420 8 bit despite my selection of YCbCr 444 8 bit.

    I have set the Screen Resolution Display Mode to Auto (4K 60 Hz)

    Because if I select manual 4K 60 Hz the screen is displaying a black screen for one second when the image that is being displayed changes drastically (for example when the camera angle changes position or when there is a cut-over of an image/recording), as if there is a drop-out or change of resolution and it needs to resync. Very odd.

    When setting the screen resolution Display Mode to Auto, the 1 second black screen does not occur…

    SAM can you check why the color space setting does not retain its manual set value and why it is a different value in the Z8 compared to the Z10?

    There seems to be something going wrong in that auto detection and settings part of the software.

    Answer: plz read my posts in this thread, there I explain the background and reason. Btw, after experimenting I found that YCbCr 420 10 bit instead of YCbCr 420 8 bit also gives a sharper image with darker black/higher contrast.

    Yes, my AVR video settings are set to passthrough.

    I had this last with an test provider, on my z7+.

    Some channels are normal sound and others very loud after changing channels

    If rebooting your box does not work, go to:

    Network settings

    IP-settings

    DHCP

    and press enter

    The box will request a new IP address and re-establish the connection.

    See if that works for you.

    Also check the URL to make sure you did not make a typo in the URL.

  • Like already from 175n mentioned, in this thread are 90% posts irrelevant to the software update.

    All posts with no detailed issue reports connected with this update, are deleted now and will be in future deleted if not relevant to the software update.

    We understand if some people are unsatisfied and have issues but such way of posting stretch and mix such thread and important reports goes oblivion.

    23-->24beta did a good job
    24-->25 also did a good job.
    Seems that everythings works great, not even a single problem till now.

    All channels have perfect quality, no studder (before, sports had a lot of studder)
    sound works great on stereo and surround (only not normalized between swithing channels, some are loud, some are little softer)

    running 3x z10 pro max on different locations. All updates ran smooth, only some settings had a reset.

    for now.... dont fix whats not broken....this box is running great!

    For the people with problems...

    please do a factory reset of the device, it can really help! And its just 5 minutes of work to get back online.
    just install the iptv online provider and via Market.... the Audio Optimizer (open and start also!) and test again.

    the other known question is always, do u use it over LAN or over Wifi?
    Do u have a busy network? Do u use QoS in the router? Because ive seen this a lot, that it is needed to be ON, because if somebody just started a torrent or download, it can give a network hick-up. With QoS u can give video stream priority...to be shure u have always enough reserved bandwith for tv.

    example...The Grand Tour series....uses constantly 95Mbps! not all home networks can handle this properly.

    im shure we can get it fixed for you, but there are always things we cannot see from here....it can be so much more outside the formuler box.

    as an it expert i see many network variantions and problems, its not always as simple as 123 to get it fixed.
    Sometimes a stupig setting we oversee in the box, other times, incorrect router settings.

    Please all people, do a reset of the box, and start with a clean updated firmware. (no old temp stuff) :smiling_face:

    Haha, just 5 min? It takes me hours to install Kodi again with many settings, several add-ons And that’s only Kodi, there are in my case more apps to reinstall.

    If you only use a IPTV app then you’re comment is true.

  • hi after the last update I have problems with my z10 pro max often that the image freeze for 1 to 20 seconds and that happens almost every 10 min and lately sometimes 1 minute of video that repeats for 3 times and then continue.

    I have 2 different iptv accounts and both have the same problem

    Restart and factory settings didn't change anything

    hours? hmmz....i think u probably miss a little knowledge...
    *make a backup of de root files to usb drive (all folders from kodi you find on the local storage)

    after reinstall box, install kodi, copy alle the kodi folders back to local storage....start kodi.
    just like a computer with windows, u can make a copy of the kodi/roaming folder (thats where all settings kept)

    second option, within kodi, u probably know, u also have build backup options. If u work with kodi, u know to find that option.

    ive build around 500 kodi pi3 boxes....if i needed to fix all, one by one...from a clean start....it takes years.
    so cloning and backup/restoring options are really usefull....i say 10min at least (after backup) to get back online.
