Beta Hotfix update - FW 11.2.2 and MOL 3 11.2.2 for Formuler Z11 Series released.

    Worked perfectly last night, this morning - back to Error message!

    My experience with my Z11PM has been similar. When I clear EPG data, catch-up begins working again briefly (for 1-24 hours, typically). Inevitably, it stops working within a day and those error messages return.

    I have tried this at least 4 or 5 times, with the current beta update and with the standard versions. Same result in every case.

    The only saving grace is that Cloud Timeshift works properly, but that feature is more limited than the Z11PM’s broken catch-up feature.

    Bottom line: I expect we will have to wait for another update (like, a month or two from now) before we see Z11PM catch-up fixed. Unless they’re delaying the currently pending update to get a fix into the current release cycle. Who knows, maybe we’ll see a second beta release! (Pure speculation on my part.)

  • this update solved the "no information" in epg. Thx. After a few days i noticed the timeshift while viewing live tv doesn't work anymore. After switching to a new channel, then after 10 seconds, using the left button i can't go back a few seconds.

    I must admit never understanding how timeshift works. The instruction video shows you need to use the play button first, then you can use the left button but the play button only start cloud timeshift after 3 seconds. That seems to work but i can't use the forward button to go to the last 10,15 minutes. Those are never available

  • I don't understand your issues with EPG. I mean, Z11's MOL3 can do it at a specific time (aka content and EPG update) and then you just need to refresh it and everything works. My EPG is always spot on, but it needs to be updated every day maybe?? Not sure, i know i'm doing it every day, that's what my provider told me to do...

    The only issue i have is sometimes i open a channel and i get network error, then i go to EPG and start the live stream, scroll to the end and stay there for a bit, then exit and channel works...That's the only kind of bug i've encountered on this BETA so far...And i did what SAM said, backup, reset box, clean data and cache on MOL3, etc...

    I have this issue also with epg showing no info on the channel titles and guide. The only way for me to see the epg is clicking the right arrow and see a list, but that's not so trivial.

    Upgrading to this beta version didn't fixed it for me. However, I'm using a little workaround to have more or less info on channel descriptions and the guide:

    My main source is XC (a server url, an username, and a password), now I added a second source as an m3u link (actually i'm using the same credentials/account but with the m3u link format) and specified a custom EPG link for that second source. I had to uncheck all the channel and vod groups of that second source to avoid duplicates. And now, when I refresh the epg data, it seems that the custom link of the second source is used for that so now I can see the epg info + guide as before on channels of my first/main source 🤷‍♂️.

    It took me some hours to figure this out but I don't like it at all because actually I have 2 simultaneous connections to my provider's account (just using different connection methods), and the epg coming from my custom url is not no accurate: very often it doesn't correspond to the real content. The EPG that I can see by clicking the right arrow, however, is accurate.

    So this is really a problem with the Z11 pro max or with MOL3 😢

  • Hotfix does not fix Mol3 "search" when green button is pushed, when searching it returns very few results.,and never finds any search results for tv series. i hope this gets sorted out along with the VOD search....both these features are not as good as Mol2 for searching.

    This is very frustrating and time consuming trying to find new content to watch. Formuler should have been better prepared before releasing New Models with so many problems. My advice is stay away from this pricey unit until "fixes" are complete....or buy a different box

    I can say on both Z11 pro and Max versions the universal search (green button) works perfectly fine for me across all sections and finds the results as expected.

    The same search function is also available from the newly added option within VOD & Series.

    Additionally the newly added section was sorted some updates ago in that it pulls the newly added content push by the provider.

  • well i will have to contact provider to see why its not working with z11 pro max, because same provider works perfectly fine with my z8 & z10

    I have the same issue with my Z11 pm, same provider for my 2 other Z10 p..no issues with them.

    It's a Z11 bug, we have to sit tight and wait :frowning_face:

  • Same exact catch up issue for me - works on Z8 Pro Max. Does not work on the 11 Pro Max. I can see the icons on the z11 but get an error message

    Clear cache of MOL3 under Home screen > Settings > Apps

    Install Memory Cleaner from Market and also clear cache again and reboot the box and see if the issue remains.

    If it does, open a conversation with using the icon next to search icon on the top right side of the screen.

  • Same exact catch up issue for me - works on Z8 Pro Max. Does not work on the 11 Pro Max. I can see the icons on the z11 but get an error message

    Try to access the catchup from the single-channel EPG to see if there is a difference and let us know the results.

    Restoring a backup is not a known method to resolve 404 errors. I suggest you stop doing the restore when you encounter the 404 next time to remove unnecessary complexity in the debugging flow.

    Disabling/Enabling a content source is not a known method to resolve 404 errors. I suggest you stop disabling/enabling the content source in question the next time it happens for the same reason state above.

    Things you should check and try the next time you encounter the error:

    • Check the MOL3 notifications menu to see if there is anything unusual in the activity logs.
    • Reboot your device. Press and hold the STB button until the power menu appears. Select "Restart".
      Open MOL3 and check if the error went away.
    • Refresh the portal. Content Manager > Content Sources > Select "Refresh" and wait until the background refresh is complete.
      After that, the "Refresh Contents" button will appear in the MOL3 main menu. Press the "Refresh Contents" button and check if the error went away.

    Here's what I just did:

    Manual refresh -> error 404 (problem stayed) - notification showed 2 messages with success/complete - tried a manual refresh again -> still error 404 (2x notification ok with success/complete) ; did a restart and then all was ok again (tbh, this isn't what I expected, this didn't help before, but is naturally ok).

    Then I did a manual refresh again and (2x notification ok with success/complete) got immediately error 404 back again. Did a restart, but this time this didn't help (still error 404) ; then did new a restart and all was ok again ; as this problem remains, and now it's working I didn't do a manual refresh afterwards (as I expect error 404 again) ; if ther's no new instructions to test/try, I suppose I'll wait till tomorrow's automatic content update.

    So, imho for me it's still a relatively big issue ; also sent logfile CA20B1 ; only happens with 1 provider (main provider - as said above, already with new login about a week ago) ; also I'm pretty sure this started after this beta (never had error 404 before if I remember well).

    Still hoping for a fix.

    Try to downgrade MOL3 to 11.2.1 by uninstalling the current beta and opening the Software Update app to re-install 11.2.1.


    Here's what I just did:

    Manual refresh -> error 404 (problem stayed)

    Did you press the "Refresh Contents" button in the Main Menu?

    Sorry to make you repeat yourself but it wasn't clear if you pressed the "Refresh Contents" button in the main menu after the performing the Manual refresh in CM.

    • CM > Manual refresh -> wait -> Main Menu > "Refresh Contents" -> Check for error

    The other thing I suggest you try is to temporarily uninstall any other IPTV client apps on your Formuler during your testing.

    My theory is that maybe the other apps are interfering or "stealing the connection" while you are trying to use MOL3 and therefore causing the 404 errors.

  • I have detailed my own experience with this bug, here's what got it working until the next referesh:

    For anyone with the same issue, here's what worked for me and fixed the problem:

    1. Do a back up of your device
    2. Download and install beta version
    3. Clear EPG and re cync
    4. If you have Favourites in Live TV or VOD, take pics of the screen to guide you <- this will save you a ton of time later
    5. Clear Data and Clear Cache
    6. You will get an option to restore - go ahead in restore from your back up
    7. Now, on my device I had to go back to settings and only approve my (stalker) settings.
    8. Now you have the device running.
    9. You'll find all your favorites gone but the grouping remains.
    10. Go to the pics you took and start marking your favs (yes, true PIA)
    11. Give the EPG time to load, once done, you can now go back and use Catch up.

    Short of factory reinstall and re load, I've tried all that's been suggested and more.

    Won't go the route of roll back and/or reinstall for the simple reason that the problem existed from the very begining - day 1 of using this device.

    Further, having 2 z10p working fine with same provider eliminates that possibility.

    From what I see, if the above process worked for some time, there appears to be some kind of conflict with the data (I cleared cache after it stopped again, to no avail). Only after clearing it, it works fine. BUT you can imagine the nightmare that follows this action.

    indeed: 1 connection on the subs, and using TiviMate now and then (needed for the manual sync. option), as already mentioned somewhere earlier:

    1) no auto start on boot (no apps are started up on boot, not even MOL3) - no automatic content update when TiviMate is manually started up

    2) If a iptv client is started, all other apps are manually closed each time

    I'll try to answer you as good as possible.

    - Downgrade MOL3 to 11.2.1 -> this is what I did earlier, but as SAM wrote I updated to 11.2.2 beta again (see post 60 in this thread). Now my backup of MOL3 is for the 11.2.2 beta, if I go back, I need to reset everything again once more (settings, favourits, ...), or am I wrong here (and/or cold I do a restore in 11.2.1 of a backup taken from 11.2.2 and stay on 11.2.1?)? That's what I really wanted to avoid.

    - On the manual refresh: indeed, I did an manual refresh, waited until it was finished (1 notification without error), then did the refresh content (was in red on top of the menu), new notification (ok, again without error). Note: the 404 error only came after the refresh content (red on top of the menu)!

    - Uninstalling other IPTV-apps: I'm using TiviMate as backup as I'm still having sync. problems on Dolby 5.1 (some providers, on channels, vod movies and vod series), so I really need the manual sync. function (as in MOL3 I prefer the standard player and don't want to change the player in settings each time - already did some suggestions on this in the suggestions thread, but that's another discussion). Re-installing TiviMate would take a lot of time, and was also what I wanted to avoid (+ as just written here above: I need it for the manual audio sync.) Further: I'm using TiviMate since I got the Z11 PM, and really have the impression this problem started after the 11.2.2 beta. Also, when an IPTV app is started, I always close all other apps manually (see my reaction on the post above).

    I hope it's ok to post this here (if not, please delete): the provider with the 404 error confirmed me yesterday that it's a Formuler bug, nothing can be done about it, we only can wait until Formuler solves this bug with a new firmware ; seems the servers are attacked with an automatic temporary blocking (of max. 1 minute).

    So, to be clear: when MOL3 is active and a content update is done (automatic or manual) no other apps are active!

    - I just remembered that with MOL3/IPTV 11.2.1 (and FW was 11.2.2 at that time) the error 404 and server connection lost was also there (see my post 59 in this thread). So imho no need to do this again

    - Perhaps this could help or be useful: later today I will try to deactivate all portals in TiviMate and do a manual content refresh in MOL3.

  • Watched a file in VOD the first time.

    Then when I would watch a channel in favorites, everything was black on the TV.

    Did a reboot and had to select Wifi again.

    Then the channels came back.

    Hope it is fixed in the next version.

    Haven't installed the beta version.

    Update after short test (I hope my explanation is clear enough):

    - In TiviMate: disabled all portals & afterwards clear cache - restart Z11 PM - start MOL3 - 1st manual content update - ok and notification ok with success - waited a little while (above a minute or so) - refresh content (red on top menu) - ok and notification ok and complete -> all fine after 1st manual content update ; waited > 5 minutes.

    Did a 2nd manual content update - ok and notification ok with success - waited a little while (again more than a minute) - refresh content (red on top menu) - ok and notification ok and complete - immediately after the refresh content came error 404 and connection with server was gone - waited a few minutes and zapped between some channels of the 'lost' provider, but error 404 stayed - in CM again '!' instead of 'v' for ok , tried refresh of this provider, without success ('!' still there) - restarted Z11 PM, restarted MOL3 and all was ok again - didn't do any manual content update afterwards.

    So my conclusions are:

    - I got connection again after a restart (better than to do a restore of MOL3), but there's still a bug which need to be fixed ...

    - Disabling TiviMate portals didn't help

    From there it normally switches to live tv.

    Did you done this 3x times in row? If yes and in short time, one after other, the server security script can produce such error. Many Refreshes in row pulls many data and security server script don`t like it, result is block..

  • Tonight i set a recording,from 8.30 to 9.30,when i go to recordings it says Error cant play this video.Pleasetry again later.

    In notifications its mentioned start recording at 8.30 and in second notification it says recording finished at 9.30.

    Any explanation for this?

  • This 401 and 404 erros are probably provider related. Every server has counter measures to avoid being hacked and when they see too many attempts of connection in a short time those measures are activated and will be in place for 30min or even 1 hour, after that no more erros of such kind unless you do the same again,,,

    Now the media codec exception and network error are different and i assume it's due to the choosing of the stream being made by MOL3, since there is no option to select the best possible quality stream it will select automatically and sometimes it can be an error...Mostly because with MAC portals providers send 3/4 streams for the same channel and sometimes those streams have different codecs and MOL3 might not be ready to handle all of those streams at once, but it's just speculation...

    Further regarding the 404 error (lost connection with 1 provider), I really keep on struggling, here's a reaction on some your posts above (wherefore I thank you guys):

    - manual content update yesterday was done 2x (so 1st time ok, 2nd time error 404 - about 5 mins between them) -> block could be theoretically possible

    - provider confirmed that if there's a block, the block lasts max. 1 minute

    New findings this morning:

    - This morning after startup & automatic update all ok (notifications: new content has arrived with success at 05h07 - refresh contents complete at 07h37 (this is when I started the Z11 PM)

    - Then I did a manual content update at about 08h03 -> error 404 and provider blocked (notifications: new content has arrived with success at 08h05 - refresh contents complete at 08h10 - so I waited 5 mins to push the red top button to refresh).

    - After that only after 4th restart all was ok again. So the 'max. 1 minute' block took a lot longer here.

    So, there's some logic, but there are also some things that are not really logic:

    - Automatic 'nightly' content update: was ok for more than a week, but got error 404 (see post 98 in this thread) - at that time I did NOT do any manual content update

    - Earlier when I did take a manual update, error 404 came during the day (so perhaps 8 hours after the automatic update)

    - After the block: is it normal I have to do a restart? I would have thought connection would come again automatically while on a channel or after switching channels

    - I still believe these problems started after the 11.2.2 beta (but that's my impression and can't be checked)

    - The notifications never gave an error

    - Not 100% sure, but after pushing the refresh (red button on top) I have the impression the text on the screen right below is a bit different than before. Now it says: refresh contents - refresh contents complete - but in the background - while 'refresh contents complete' is there, there's still 'refresh contents' for a few seconds.

    Still hoping for a fix.

    I just did some extra tests on the 404 error (portal disconnect), but this time only with TiviMate.

    - 18h00: update all playlists -> ok

    - 18h07: update all playlists -> message 'Failed to Update' - however: all channels & portals were still ok!

    - 18h10: update all playlists -> ok

    - 18h13: update all playlists -> message 'Failed to Update' - however: all channels & portals were still ok!

    - 18h16: update all playlists -> message 'Failed to Update' - however: all channels & portals were still ok!

    - 18h27: update all playlists -> message 'Failed to Update' - however: all channels & portals were still ok!

    - 18h31: update all playlists -> message 'Failed to Update' - however: all channels & portals were still ok!

    - 18h45: update all playlists -> ok

    I believe these results were useful to share here ; tentative conclusion: I'm still convinced that there's something wrong with the content updates function in MOL3 ;

    in TiviMate there's no error 404 and the portal doesn't get blocked, but we do get the message that the update has failed. Is it possible to take a look at this, imho it would be perfect if MOL3 could work the same way.

    Could you please do me favour and test something?

    Go to (if ethernet connected) to home menu -> click on ethernet icon -> Private DNS -> Private DNS provider hostname and chose Cloudflare, confirm.

    Test again and please do not so often your refreshes, one automatically refresh from box at day is enough.

    If this doesn`t help install vpn and try with vpn on.

    I would also in your case test some other trial 24 h provider. I have 4 of them and all of them work absolutely fine with z11.

    Changed DNS to Cloudflare and restarted the Z11 PM ; did a manual content update in MOL3 and got error 404 & lost connection ; restarted after a minute or so and got connected again after 1st restart.

    I'll keep the Cloudflare for now (or are there any disadvantages or risks?) and won't do manual content updates (I will try not to ...). But: as said earlier in the last 10 days or so, I only got 1x an 404 error after the nightly automatic update (so it seems difficult to reproduce).

    Still, when I compare (in case of a server blocking after an content update or for any other any reason) MOL3 (error 404 & lost portal connection & sometimes had to restart several times) and TiviMate (got a failed update message, but all connections were kept), I really prefer the TiviMate-way (connections are kept, I just have to wait but no need to restart over and over). I really hope this can be improved.

    I'll wait with a VPN (but, if needed: any VPN-suggestions that work well with the Z11 PM?)

    About other 24h trial provider: This 404 error is only with my main provider (whom I surely will keep)

    No, is fastest DNS Server at moment, no risks.

    Yes please, test with this new setting and report again.

    Nord VPN works perfect with Formuler boxes.
