    Hi, I've recently bought the Z12 ultra and for the most part I am really happy with the box and how it performs.


    I have one question, if I'm watching a live TV channel that has catch up and the programme has already started, with MOL3 then it seems like I have to wait until the programme has finished before I can watch it from the beginning with catch up from the EPG.


    With 2 other IPTV apps that I use on my older box then I am able to scroll back from the live feed to the beginning of the programme and start watching immediately.

    Is this correct that I have to wait until the programme has finished first with MOL3 or am I missing something simple?


    Most of the time this won't be a issue but if a sporting event runs for 6 or 7 hours then this wouldn't be ideal .

    I don't think AFR works very well in the Z12 Ultra, I would like to know what settings are recommended. In the Android system's "Device Settings" - "Display and Sound" - "Match content frame rate" I have selected "On".

    Inside MOL3 I have selected Automatic Frame Rate (AFR) on TV, VOD and TV Series but I am not satisfied with the AFR result anymore, the picture becomes black for a second when switching from Live TV to VOD and it also takes longer when changing channels.

    I run Formuler GTV before I bought the Z12Ultra and AFR works there without problems.

    I was hoping that AFR in the Z12 would be better than the Z11 but it doesn't seem so.

    I hope this can be improved.


    I’d like to know this too. On a certain other app, if you switch to a channel with catch up, you can rewind back all the way to the beginning of the programme if required.

    I'm thinking this is the same person back with a new username that got banned for his constant bitching about the accessibility issue and the 14 bugs .He pretty much demanded they fix the issues promptly like he was someone special.

    Yeah,i know the one you mean,at previous posts he found 13 bugs ,he is now up to 14,and still doesnt drink alcohol:thumbs_up::thumbs_up:

    This is Z12 and not z11 thread and once banned users (some posts can be tolerated but personal offences definitively not), cached will be banned instantly again.

    Just got one.


    It's a beautiful box and remote with some nice remote features. Find my remote is a game changer. Slightly disappointed that the spec isn't any different to the z11 pro max but nice all the same. Don't see many z11 users rushing out to upgrade though.

    I'll still be using my 1tb external SSD don't like the idea of time shift and recording using up internal storage. But nice to have extra internal storage.


    But here's something I was hoping for that still hasn't happened.

    Apps in market are still very much out of date. Some even end of life. Downloader and Analiti to mention a couple.

    I know we have Google play but what's the point having old out of date apps in market?

    Just format to nfts using RUFUS tool on your laptop or PC,as described in Article section.

    All was formatted fine with Rufus firstly in the NTFS format as in the guide.

    Recording works fine on the external drive but time shift doesn't.

    If I hold the play/pause button a small box pops up and says not supported.

    If I switch back to internal in the settings then time shift works fine.


    I've also tried FAT32 and that has the same not supported issue.

    Tried restarting the box multiple times.


    I've searched a lot of posts but cannot find a solution.

    Hi LDeacon I've just noticed when trying to get time shift to work on my external drive that if you hold the play/pause button on a live channel that has catch up then a small box pops up that says start cloud timeshift with a 3, 2, 1 countdown and it then goes to the beginning of that programme and you can forward to where you want to start watching 👍

    Is in MOL3 Settings->DVR -> under Timeshift device -> also your external device set and recognised correctly and not the internal chosen?

    Btw: NTFS format is always better.

    Hello friends, I've been looking at some threads from August of this year about USB tuners for the Z10 and Z11. I'd like to know if the list of USB tuners that friend SAM posted will be valid for the new Z12 Ultimate. Thanks to everyone who can share their experiences on the subject.

    Hi and thank you for taking the time to reply , yes it is set correctly as the external device.

    I did format the drive again back to NTFS with Rufus.

    After reading another post I turned extra recording time off but this made no difference.


    I've also cleared cache, again this made no difference.

    I should also add that timeshift works fine with internal selected just not with external.

    Hm that's pretty cool cheers. Doesn't feel quite as premium being able to instantly rewind back say a couple of minutes on live though.

    Hi all, my Z12 ultra works pretty well, here is my config :

    TV: samsung the frame 2020 with Z12 ultra plugged on HDMI,

    Sound : I connected a DENION AVR-1650H to the TV with a 5:1 set of speakers

    Everything works super well, dolby digital, dolby surround, stereo sound is super good with movies with a sound encoded in these formats, image is super slick, MyTVOnline 3 is smooth etc.

    Only problem : with some TV programs the sound is out of sync, and I need to put some values like -250ms, -400ms etc. and this is not saved anywhere. Another user said that setting "surround sound : never use" solved the problem, but this is ok if you are not looking for surround sound support, I have a home cinema connected: I do not want surround sound to be disabled !!!

    Any suggestions of what I could do to fix this? Thanks in advance !

    But with normal tv channels is surround not nessesary.

    With movies you need it for sure! Thats my opinion.

    You have a surround set and want it have to work.

    I can only advice to turn off surround like others do, but you want use it cause your denon set.

    I cant help you, maby a future update will fix it. But can also be provider related etc etc.

    All backgroud apps are closed?

    Apparently it is caused by the network bandwidth: yesterday there was a storm here with lots of rain and 4k movies did not play well: stopped then bufferized etc. FHD/4K TV channels had audio sync problems etc. Today, the storm is finished and I just tried: no more audio sync problems...

    Hello all, I have a question: I noticed that the "find my remote" button works only when the Z12 box is not in sleep mode... This is strange as I often leave the box in sleep mode when I stopped watching a movie or tv serie.... then if I don't remember where I put the remote controller, the button is useless....


    Is there a way to go out of the sleep mode without the remote ?

    I just picked up a z12 ultra and loving it but ran in to one snag. On MOL3 my surround speakers (Sonos) aren’t working. If I turn off surround sound it works but I’m stuck in PCM and my atmos no longer works via streamio. Any hidden settings to make that selective without manual intervention every time?

    Tested today with some small Kingston USB Stick, formatted with NTFS and it worked instantly after choosing Timeshift for USB Stick .

    you can try replugging the ultra device to boot it up.

    We will review if using the Find My Remote feature during standby mode is possible.

    Just to make sure that I'm not just being an idiot, could someone please explain exactly how to use local timeshift when I am watching a channel.

    The latest posts for Mol3 say to press the right button which brings up the timeline but pressing the right button does absolutely nothing.

    Pressing play/pause does nothing.

    it has to be me as I've used numerous and different brands of usb SSD, usb sticks and SD cards all formatted with Rufus and I cannot for the life of me to get local timeshift to work.

    Check these.


    Formuler Home Screen > settings > device preference > storage


    Check your USB is being seen


    If so…..


    Back to mytvonline


    Menu button (3lines) > Settings > DVR Options


    Enable Timeshift and also review where to point storage

    Yes I can confirm in the main settings that the usb is seen and also in the DVR options that timeshift is enabled and pointing to the correct usb storage.

    I guess I'll just have to give up using an external usb for dvr.

    Using internal then the right button brings up the timeline so I can pause and go back in time but no matter what type of usb I use then the right button does not work.


    Recording works perfectly on any usb connected just not DVR.

    I had couple years back 4 Formuler GTV's with AndroidTV software.

    It was for me the best box then, because ot has the AndroidTV playstore so all apps in the playstore works like a charme with te remote.

    Bac then there was also NO NETFLIX in playstore.

    Yes you read it food, there was NO Netflix in the Playstore cause the box wasn't certified by Netflix.

    But is was only vertified by google what i remember.

    But im agree that they should make the step to AndroidTV. But i think android aosp is simpler to make changes on it i think.
