  • I set this up on my laptop and from the Formuler z7+ it detects the server just fine... I have also enabled the ports in the firewall, and also tried disabling the firewall completely when testing, but I keep getting a connect time out when I click the start button.. In the Warnings section, it says No problems found. The network is fine... not sure what to do from here... any ideas?? thanx..

  • I have buffering issues too.

I found a way to get around this problem.

My solution: I turned off ethernet connection and I connected only by wifi.

The strange thing is that, when I bought the box, I installed the last update and it worked fine for 2 or 3 days only connected by cable...

I don't understand why this happens

  • Hi Bruno..

Are you serious? wifi? really? Why would it work better than ethernet? i'll try it tonight though to see what happens. I'll install the antenna that came with it.

Well I will tell you why the ethernet on this box is only 100mbps and with wifi W2 antenna you will get over 100mbps and with W3 antenna I'm getting 185mbps thats why.. if they had a giga port ethernet i would then hook up that way but they cheap out

  • I have tried many of the things here and found that the app MyTVOnline is definitely the culprit. Used other apps to get my IPTV and very little or no freezing. Tried the wifi W3 antenna, a 1 GB external ethernet connector and the normal ethernet all with the same result. Getting a bit frustrating with the time to fix this. Using the current Beta firmware v1.2.45 and IPTV v1.9.55. When it freezes I change the channel and change back and the freeze stops.

  • Ive spent the last 4 days troubleshooting this issue and have had to resort to opening a support ticket. Here is my experience:

    - For me, my W2 wifi antenna went defective 1-2 months ago (another issue with the z7+ that is well documented). I then started to use ethernet of powerline as my only option.

    - This week, mytvonline started to HEAVILY buffer, not an issue before this weekend and I have been on ethernet for past several months.

    - Plugged in my z7+ directly to my ISP's modem and eliminated my router and powerline, also confirmed through speedtest I was getting the full speed guaranteed by my ISP (75M down/10M up) and still experienced the same buffering issues immediately (and by buffering, its extreme. Plays for 1-2 seconds and then buffers for 3-4 seconds).

    - Performed both software and factory reset multiple times, no change.

    - Soft and hard reboot of the z7+ made no difference.

    - I then proceeded to download and test stb emu app and configured my service. No buffering experienced at all. By this time, I was back to my original ethernet over powerline configuration, and stb emu worked perfectly fine.

This tells me the issue is, as others have described, related to mytvonline, possibly in combination with the ethernet port on the device. I cant confirm unfortunately if ethernet is the culprit in my case though, because I dont have a wifi antenna to test with. So at this point, I can only access my service using the archiac interface that stb emu provides. If I knew this would be what I would have ended up with, would never have bought the z7+ and just bought a cheapo MAG device. I purchased the z7+ primarily for the mytvonline interface.

Hopefully Formuler support makes this right as I am only 8 months into my purchase and replace my z7+

  • This thread is very troubling - not just the post above. APlus and I have purchased roughly 25 Formuler z7+ units and the unit Aplus is speaking about was the first one, our "guinea pig" if you will. What's more troubling is that many seem to have this problem, and it doesn't look like there is a fix.

Hope that this can be addressed, or at least acknowledged. BuzzTv may be our next "guinea pig" in the mean time....

  • I'm also experiencing alot of buffering it's like every 5-10 seconds and it also cones straight back on if I change channel and go back to the existing channel only for it 2 do it again.

I have also used stb emu with the same provider Mac etc and have no issues compared with when using the mytvonline app. this being on the z7+ as an app also sideloaded onto a firestick and beelink gt1 android box.

I have done speed tests on each device and the z7+ is roughly 2meg less than all the others on WiFi and lan this shouldn't make a difference as I'm still getting around 24meg and with a vpn I'm getting around 19meg.

These issues have only started the last week since I took an update.

I have had this box from when it 1st came out last year primarily for the mytv online app and have had little issues but this is just ridiculous.

I have tried adjusting buffer rate etc but to no avail so just clutching at straws as to what else I can do. If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to let me know.

Hopefully this can be sorted out otherwise the box is useless just an expensive doorstop.

I hear they gonna release a z8 next month why release that when there are clearly issues on the z7+ that need resolving.

I might just contact the supplier and ask to return it for a refund as it's under a year old and it doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

  • Paul7807 - Interesting that your issue appears to have started the same time as mine. Coincidence? Likely not. Your story is also almost identical as well.

So at this time, my 3rd party seller that I purchased the unit from on amazon is refusing to help or agree to a return, even though I am within 1 year warranty. Their response - "contact Formuler Support". And guess what response I got from Formuler Support today? "Contact your seller for a return". No one wants to take ownership of this and Formuler is not taking ownership of their product and standing by it, and just throwing this onto the seller.

I have escalated my support ticket to have Formuler management's official position on this. I will post an update once I hear back so it is very clear on this forum their position on this issue and if they will provide us affected users with any post-sales support and stand by by their warranty.

175n Are you able to assist with this in any way internally? My support ticket is #TS00000690

Really worrisome Formuler... time for your team to step up or time for us to all move on

  • Having the same buffering issues, which is frustrating.

I'm in the UK with BT Fibre broadband, got a constant 73mb connection, with it hardwired via ethernet. I'm going to try the Tenda U12 adapter, to see if it is ethernet related.

Tried the supported Tenda U12 adapter, so wifi and ethernet, on a solid connection, it just buffers.

Thought there would have been a fix available by now, or even some form of acknowledgement of an issue.

  • Since the two firmware updates I'm experiencing buffering too, but not only on MyTvOnline, but on every IPTV application on the Formuler Z7+.

That happens to some of the channels.

First I thought the IPTV provider is the issue or my internet connection, but when I test the exact channels on my computer and my mobile phone connected on the same network, there's no buffering at all.

I've tested on my Formuler with LAN and WIFI and it's still the same.

It's clearly the problem comes from the Formuler! We are waiting for answer from the support team, because I can see thread is increasing more and more.

I've tried with reseting the software, but it's still the same issue.

  • I'VE FIXED THE PROBLEM! YAY!

The solution for the buffering issue is to do a factory reset and after that install and update to the last version.

Now there's no buffering at all and the blue bars from the bottom right (buffering level) are displaying fine.

This issue is like the SW of the mobile phones. When you are updating couple of times, the software of the OS becomes full of bugs and the cleanest solution is to do a factory reset and start over.

Ugh, I was hoping that’s not what I would have to do. I’ve got 5 accounts in MOL... that’s a lot of work.

  • After two days, the buffering issue appeared again.

Not all, but some of the channels are buffering.

When I tested the same subscription on my Samsung TV with Smart IPTV, Samsung S8, iPhone 6S, there's no buffering at all.

NOTICE: The buffering appears on every installed application on Formuler Z7+, not only MyTVOnline.

Formuler support team gotta check this thread, because it's really important!

  • My speed on the box is excellent and that's not the issue.

In my case the buffering appears to specific channels. In the two or three last versions of the firmware it might has bug with some video codecs.

For an example all the regional US channels have buffering. They are using different technology.

Also on couple of German HD channels, there's buffering every 3-5 seconds.

Again, I don't have any buffering on my TV and it's on the same internet network and the same IPTV provider.

  • I used to have the same buffering issues and I tried all the solutions given on this forum. Right now, I experience almost zero buffering. The solution was a new IPTV provider.

I am not an expert but buffering seems to be connected to the location of the server and the source used to supply the stream. And selecting another server or source will seriously improve the quality of a stream. As I noticed already several times. The provider I use now has pretty much a local server and the option to select sources. I experience the same service on MOL and the app of my supplier.

After seriously testing this solution for almost 2 months, I have now cancelled my standard TV sub. The quality of service is that good.

  • buffering could be a lots of things, location is one of them. also how you have your system setup. I had mine wired and had buffering but on the mobile devices on the same connection but on wifi had no buffering. A little search suggested that I do static ip, I did and no more buffering issue.

guess everyone is different but give that a try.

  • I have purchased the gigabit to USB as directed and my speeds increase to 93 but I’m still getting buffering on the mytvonline app also on the stb emu. I. Am using a android box on stb emu and I have no buffer or studdering. I guess I will leave it unplugged until this gets fixed.

Have you unplugged your modem and router, and then plug back in? This can often times fix issues
