What should I pay attention to when setting up GTV?

    Hello,

    I am unable to update the software of my GTV. By the "Update" application, it always indicates "check failed! Check your OTA service agent".

    And I have major "Mytvonline 2" malfunctions (crash, ...).

    Anyone in the same situation?

    What can I do ?

    Follow Sam's advice first - update the box first. This will do a fresh install of the software.

    This all issues will gone after you updated all to latest version and the box made factory reset.

    Like greenfordray told, go to Apps and start directly "Software Update" App. Seems the Software Update app need to be updated first before you are able to download next update. Would explain the error.

    Please upload next time screenshots from your error messages.

    Unfortunately this does not work for me.

    I update all App through the Google Play Store and tried the Update App and still got the "check failed! Check your OTA service agent" message.

    Maybe someone can see what I'm doing wrong in the attached images.

    I've already been busy for days with the Formuler Support to get the firmware/software installed.

    We tried a lot of things like:

    - Made several factory resets.

    - Using VPN

    - Edit Router setting etc.

    - Added a different portal to MyTVonline2.

    - Turned on Wifi (because I use ethernet) etc. etc.

    I asked the Formuler Support to send me the firmware/software files so maybe I can do it manually?

    Had no problem with updating the Bluetooth remote to version 0.5.30 trough the remote App

    I'm having the same problem.

    Been busy for days with the Formuler Support to get the firmware/software installed.

    The Formuler Support is very cooperative but still no solution

    Please try the following - you have several times but worth another go.

    Reset to factory setting,

    Then update any firmware available to latest software - this might as noted in video listed in post 1, do a fresh install of system software.

    If you are still having an issue, I would request a replacement as there may be a problem with the recover image in your GTV.

    As I find myself in exactly the same situation as you, don't hesitate to give the solution when it works :smiling_face:

    Ok, understand the issue. The needed Formuler Update app is not installed on the device (the update app on the pictures step2,3 and 4 is the wrong one). Will forward this to Formuler asap so they can find fastest solution for this.

    One question: In the header right, pop up always (after box restart) small message window (Firmware Update), if you click on it does the Software Update app opens or not, what happens exactly?

    The small message "Firmware Update" or "Remote Upgrade" at the upper right on the Adroid TV home screen does not appear after restart on my GTV.

    I have seen it pop-up on youtube installation/review video's, but not on my GTV.

    Did you already factory reset the box?

    Is your Box online, test YouTube.

    I know for 100% Damien is having the same problem that I have with the GTV.

    He started posting about the "check failed! Check your OTA service agent" error when using the Update App.

    Just because the Formuler Update App is also not installed on his device.

    When I received the reaction from Formuler Support Team I will let you all know as soon as possible.

    Just pick up the box other day I fish i came here to read first same isuue I had start box pair the remote then made mastake log on google account voice set up then finish

    No, way to get updates iptv crashing can't connect

    Then I factory reset just pair remote woth box this time sleep all the other stuff took me to main manu then bum all updates show up update bum bum everthing working fine

    What a great box its working like a charm

    A word of advice to save y'all from having any initial issues. ( saying from my first experience ) When you first plug in the GTV and after pairing remote and connecting to internet, just be PATIENT and let it sit for several minutes without doing Anything. You will then see in top right corner the number go up to 3 or 4 for available notices/updates. THEN click up there starting from the top update and PATIENTLY do them one by one until all updates are installed. I made the mistake of installing several 3rd party apps and setting up a couple portals too quick and then the large ( 600+mb ) MyTvOnline update happened and it wiped everything I loaded. Patience is the key, get in a rush and you're box might become unhappy with you. I've already setup my first 20pcs and so far so good.

    SerbJuzniFront & TNTmedia I tried, but it still doesn't work.

    After reset, the "Formuler update" application never exists on my device. So no update notification, ever.

    You doesn`t receive any update messages? Please follow the how to.

    The Formuler Update app only appears after you download and install the latest firmware (incl. automatically factory reset)!

    The developers suspect that the Formuler software update servers are being blocked by your network security settings.


    Please try the following in order to see if it solves your issue:


    1.Please log into your router's web administration page and relax the security settings and disable any extraneous "child locks" or supplemental firewalls.

    After that, please reboot your GTV and check to see if you receive a software update notification in the Launcher (home screen)


    2.If #1 does not produce a solution, please log into your Internet Service Provider's account management web portal and disable any "child locks" or supplemental internet security settings that are active on your account.

    After that, please reboot your GTV and check to see if you receive a software update notification in the Launcher (home screen)

    3.If #1 and #2 do not produce a solution, please install a VPN service on your GTV (ExpressVPN, NordVPN, etc.). The VPN will allow your GTV device to get around any blocking by your ISP or router.


    Most popular VPN apps are available in the Google Play Store. Most VPN services provide a free trial period.

    Log into the VPN app and connect to a server that is located in your country or a nearby country.

    Press the Power button on your GTV remote to turn off your device. Wait for 20 seconds.

    Press the Power button on your GTV remote to turn on your device.

    Check to see if you receive a software update notification in the Launcher (home screen).


    Please reply and give us the results.


    Users who can not solve the update issue, should contact me through conversation and give me following data:

    1. Your country

    2. ISP company

    3. Modem and/or Router model and brand

    4. 2. Try to access http://test.aloys.co.kr using PC, Laptop, Mobile, Tablet (same network with GTV)

    Check if you can see "hello world" in the site.

    I have already tested all of these solutions, but it didn't fix anything. I am in contact with support.

    I had a Z8 just before, which I updated without any problems. My network configuration has not changed.

    Formuler Support send me the message above 2 times this week

    I tried all their recommendations without success (VPN, Router settings etc. etc).

    Just to let you all know:
    I also moved the Formuler GTV to 3 different locations now. My home, my friends place and to my company.

    So in total it try 3 different internet-router now but still no firmware update.

    I own a Formuler Z7+ and Formuler Z8 and always could run the latest Firmware upgrades.

    So never a problem with the router blocking connections for the Formuler hardware.

    I think my the Formuler recover-image is faulty/damaged.

    I don't know if it is possible but can't Formuler send me a new recover-image so I can try update/firmware manualy?

    I'm already busy with this problem from Monday!

    So today I'm going to buy a second Formuler GTV. If all goes well I wil receive it tomorrow and we will see if that one will update the firmware.

    I will keep you all informed

    I only need the firmware update so the MYTVonline2 App keeps working without crashing.

    For the moment, unlike my old Z8, I will not say that the GTV is good: I have a device that does not work well, and Formuler does not offer a solution to fix this !

    We will surely not be the only ones in this case, they should move to bring us a solution quickly !

    I can't really justify another box 4 Vu+ and 2 Z8;s I could get Mrs a GTV for xmas but she likes Vu+ too much. Could call it research:winking_face::winking_face:

    I, feel you pain I was getting upset about it but just worked for me after formating and just pairing remote and skipping all other stuff

    Man I just don't kjow what can couse issues for you not to recive updates

    Did u try formating like 2 or 3 times one afere another maybe something is, stuck in the box

    I would deffinetly return next day or two if u can't get it to work maybe it's, just some kinde issue with box

    Yes, I have already done several resets, trying several connections: mobile, wifi, ethernet ... I will also try to go to a friend's house to test with his connection.

    I never had a problem updating my previous Z8, so why would my connection suddenly have a problem?

    As you suggested, I just plugged in the connection, and skipped the rest of the steps and waited. No update ever arrived.

    I think my box is defective, just like that of the other person on this forum.

    I'm still waiting for Formuler to provide me with a solution...

    I, was going crazy first time check my server all looks good Mac changed mop can't connect error

    Then I had two beers relax came here to check and finde out that setting up google and rest last and, worked

    Deffinetly not good feeling after spending lot money they could of putt 4GB ram in 220$ box jist saying it's, definitely primium box

    Maybe try

    Go to Settings open Apps finde Formular Update app

    Forse stop

    Clear data

    Clear cache

    Try that seme for Update app for box woth errow up there is, app in app folder then reboot after finishit for two apps

    Reboot and see it it picks up updates

    You have nothing to loose maybe it will work
