  • Thx hdr. Please do following, 5 recordings manual, 5 epg sheduled recording and 5 scheduled recordings without epg. Two of each scheduled with turned off box ( deep standby). Need your results for compare with my.

Send me pm when you done. Thank you.

  • Detailed report is send to Formuler this week (was in Holidays), we will see what they find.

  • There will be update when devs. say it`s solved, it is reported and they work on this issue.

  • Had the same issue setup up recording to my QNAP Nas, have to say setup was super easy, Manual Recording of show worked flawlessly, I've only done one, But recoding from EPG has replicated the same issues as others have found.

  • One possible reason a recording can stop is tied to your video service subscription. If you have signed up for only one connection and while recording is going on, if you switch to a different channel, the recording will be stopped immediately. Also, if you have scheduled a recording that starts when you are watching another channel, the recording will not happen and it will show a recording with a length of 1 minute. After I upgraded to 2 connections from my service provider, my recording reliability significantly increased.

Nonsense. It has to do with recording on the GTV via EPG. I have a subscription which supports 4 connections.

Manual recordings can go over 3 hours easily. Recordings via EPG almost never go over 1 hour.

  • I see updates and Hotfixes for z10 but still none for GTV. Beta was supposed to be out in December. That never happened. Here it is mid mid January and still no word of anything. Dont get me wrong I love my gtv but how about giving the effort u give for z10 to the GTV also. All we want is recording fixed. I know it takes time but geez work on GTV

    Mook

Once again, update is in progress. It will come when devs. decide it is ready for OTA.

  • Like they say on the Heinz Ketchup commercial "The best come to those who wait"

  • hi.

a question.i have a formula gtv-box that has a bit of a hassle with timeshift and ongoing recordings, eg pauses but a program for 30 minutes and then to play it often jumps forward in type 10 min and the same when recording. I usually start recording hockey at the beginning of the match and then watch to catch up, but time can jump back and forth a bit as it pleases. Do you have any experience of that? grateful for all the help I can get

Hi there - same issue here I think:

I am new to the board, and I have looked through the forums for this issue - this seems to be the only place where it is mentioned. If I am wrong, I apologize.

    Background details:

    * This is not reproducible on demand, but certainly happens very often that it is an super annoyance

    * using both the z8 and CC hardware

    * latest updates (right up to today)

    * tried multiple storage devices (USB keys, good quality external SSD and NAS via CIFS/SMB)

    Issue:

    * When pausing live TV, (or FF/RW live TV ), pressing play again causes the playback to jump ALL THE WAY BACK to content initially presented when I tuned into the channel (e.g. if I was watching a movie from the start, pressing pause and then pressing play again would 'restart the movie').

    * similar behavior with recorded content.... pressing pause (or RW/FF), then pressing play at the spot where I'd like to continue causes the playback to go back to the beginning

    * Sometimes pressing FF (and then play) jumps me WAY too far from the playback point I have stopped on

    * Likewise, this happens if I RW to re-watch the content... I can (it seems) never play the paused content from the spot I have selected

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks

  • Video showing the tv screen and your pressed buttons on rcu would help to understand what goes wrong. Please upload to streamable.com and post the link here, thx.

  • Yeah, happens to me too and very often. I reported it as a bug. Occurs for me both on time shift or recordings when I play them and try to scroll backward or forward a few times. I replaced the USB flash drive with a fast one and still the same behavior. This scroll function needs a bit more testing.

  • Sorry for piling on here, but despite having 2 GTV connections, I cannot record 1 channel and watch another. My success rate with a timed recording from the EPG is good when the box is turned off. But while watching one channel, a scheduled recording on a different channel never really works.

    1) I'll get a message that my scheduled recording on a different channel is about to start. Sometimes I can clear the message and continue watching the current channel, but the scheduled recording never comes out right.

    2) Sometimes when watching a channel, I'm automatically switched to the recording channel. This recording may be successful if I stay on that channel. But what would be the point of recording it if I'm forced to watch it.

    3) If I try to change to or from the recording channel, it never turns out right. Sometimes I can't switch from the recording channel at all.

Whenever my manual or scheduled recordings fail, I might get 1 min, 10 mins, or some other incomplete version. Can't speak to recordings longer than 1 hour. So far I record only 30 or 60 min shows.

    My 2 cents.

  • Did you contact your provider about this?As i found out that my provider does not allow recording one and watching another channel ( for security reasons they say)!

  • I have not contacted my provider about this issue. I've reached out to him about plenty of other stuff though. I figured with 2 connections I would be able to watch 1 channel and record another. I'm learning on this forum though, that all providers are not created equal. I would sure like to understand more about that too.

EDIT: Provider confirms I should be able to record one channel and watch others, so I'm still scratching my head.
