I have the same problem.

Will look into it and announce later in the day.

I thought there was something wrong with my USB memory so I did not spend much time on it when the error occurred. If I remember correctly, I received a message that the selected file cannot be played.

Sounds like your USB might be incorrect format.

I have spotted an issue with recording... unsure if this is intentional by Formuler or not?

If you’re currently watching a programme and you want record it, when you press to do so it brings up an error message “recording error” or something like that.

If you record something else after the current showing then it records as normal.

In comparison, the Z8 & Pro, you can record anytime during the present programme.

I’m not sure what more information can be provided?

When watching a live channel and pressing to record it after the programme has started, the GTV says record error.

If you then skip to the next program and set to record it works fine.

So for me there is an issue recording a programme that’s already started.

Yes sure, if i have only one line , so i can't switch to another chanel during recording

So I think it's not a USB stick problem , the same stick is working on Z8...

Did you format again before putting in GTV

I will test on my shortly and see if I get the same result

Does GTV have file manager if so have you tried playing from there, Or download and try to play

So its recording OK

Can you try Tivimate on GTV

I'm going to have to get a GTV" just to test things" that will be my excuse to Mrs LOL

Well twice I set something to record today...

The record icon appears in the epg ready for the programme to start.

Once the programme starts, the record icon disappears and nothing is recorded.

I checked in the recordings folder to be sure and it’s empty.

Pretty poor to be having these issues right away.

Let’s hope it’s sorted along with the assistant as priority.

I think you can wait to return your GTV. GTV is still new and the existing errors will surely be corrected with future updates. Ok, there are some things that need to be adjusted but I like GTV and it will get better with time. You will miss your GTV and want it after it is updated.😉

SSSSSHHHHHH I wanted to swap for my Z8

Many people are clambering to get this box because of the Google assistant mainly and the upgrade to Android 9... however; it simply doesn’t work properly on the device.

Basic features like this should certainly be working as intended before releasing the device.

Had high hopes and feel a little let down at the moment.

I agree with you,GTV might have been tested a little more before it was released. But it is now that it has to show what it stands for and Formuler has to work to correct what does not work.

The best thing we can do now is to inform what we are not happy with.

I am absolutely sure that Formuler corrects what is needed for everything to work.

I do completely agree with your comments and hope they’ll sort things out in a timely manner.

They normally are very good.

I just felt I need to make a big shout about the issues because seeing these problems straight out of the gate is very disappointing.

Additionally as the boxes are only just being rolled out, there isn’t the forum support of all the contributors to assist people at the moment.

Ok so I have found a “fix” maybe a temporary one for recording....

So a little background for normal setup and I’ll explain how I found to get it working...

Put the HDD or USB into the z8, works in both USB 2&3 and then format it...

Now when you first format it, afterwards you’ll get a notification so open that from the main home screen and Itl say “new <name> USB drive detected”

If you click that you’ll be prompted to setup as device storage and herein is the problem I found. If I setup as device storage it wants you to migrate apps otherwise you keep getting a notification until you do it...

If you do migrate the apps then recording will not work at all.

So how did I get it working?

I reformatted the USB on the GTV...

the notification still appears as mentioned above however, ignore it and don’t setup as storage device.

I went back to MTOL2 and then settings and DVR Options and set again the USB

I went back to epg and record current programme and future programme and it works as it should. I viewed the recording and it worked.

There’s obviously a conflict between the box/mtol2 and the usb... (USB STICK IS NOT THE PROBLEM)

I might be misunderstanding your format guide , If you format with Rufus on pc then plug it in its ready to go.

But not possible to watch records with mytvOnline2 veeds othe apps like VLC to watch

With IMxxlayer(seems to be a plagiat of Mytvonline2?) Record and possible and watch the Records possible.Its a shame that a Copy of Mytvonline2 cann mange it but not the Original.

Can confirm that changing the language to english solves the playback problem

Surprising for me it works .Thanks .But the other day I had changed from German to English but Playback did not work.

The mainpoint is not change language in MytvOnline2 to English ! It had to be done in the Configuration of the Box.

So Playback works = Box English MyTVOnline2 = German

I understand that the resolution to switch to English is the solution. But when will the corrective update arrive? I am in a French-speaking country and I will not change my language. Already there is no Netflix certification compared to other Box such as Xiaomi Mi S 4K or Amazon Fire Stick. For your already high price I find it unfortunate!
