  • Netflix does work in hd, you just have to find the right version Netflix but you have to going find the hd version on github google is your friend the latest version will not do HD . I’ve tested a few version they play 1080 on Netflix, and on the Netflix addon kodi - qhd. The tests where done with test patterns found on Netflix. Disney plus is still not HD

  • I have a couple of questions. I read that you have obtained the official L1 DRM module, but that it requires a separate install. The ‘How To’ link posted above doesn’t work properly (not found) so I would like to have one that does.

    But even before that, I’m a little hesitant as to install this update, because I can’t seem to find out whether or not my TV supports HDCP 2.x. The TV is from 2014, and I really doubt it does. So, before even beginning to think of installing this latest firmware for the Z8, I’d like to know if I can force it to continue to use HDCP1.4 (which my TV does support. I don’t mind not being able to use the L1 DRM module that much, as I have plenty of other ways to access Netflix and other streaming services in HD (my TV doesn’t do 4K as the pannel simply doesn’t even know what that is yet, and my eyes are so woeful that they can’t discern the difference anyway.

  • After I made the update. I can't see any trailers anymore in vods.

    I have another z8 where I did not update. And the trailers is working and can be seen here.

    I use xc portal

    Same provider on my other box with old version and no problems

  • Hello, I have exactly the same problem like Lee. I can load the VOD's, if I select a VOD then I have no play button and cannot play the VOD. The external VOD player is deactivated. My provider has already checked his VOD offer - there is no error. I use the Formuler Z8.

    Unfortunately I did not make a backup before the update :frowning_face::loudly_crying_face::tired_face:.

    What can I do, will there be a new update soon?

    slt , en cas de soucis depuis la dernière mise a jour, vérifié la date et l'heure indiqué !car plusieurs personnes ont eu la date changer et mis en 2017, remettre la date en auto résous beaucoup de soucis.

  • OK, so I took the plunge and updated my box to the new firmware/MOL versions. Everything is working as expected, except:

    • I have no EPG data (already cleared the EPG cache; this seems to coincide with a disruption of service at my provider’s end, so no real harm as of yet)
    • Catchup doesn’t work. If I go to the Single EPG view for a channel that does have catchup enabled, I do get a programme listing for days up to yesterday (see above, no harm there yet). However, when I next try to play any of the programme’s I’d like to view by catchup, then I get a message saying: No supported EPG. Is this also related to the issue above? Only if I use any other application, it works just fine (that is, the EPG has the same issues everywhere, but I can still use catchup to watch programmes that have been broadcast before today)

    I will be checking with my neighbour (who didn’t update their box yet) to see if this second issue is also affecting them. However, since this is by no means the first time we have had a provider-side EPG disruption, yet have (nearly) always been able to use catchup during such times, I fear that something may have changed in the handling of EPG and/or programme catchup in MOL2. Again, Smarters IPTV Pro, for example, does allow me to use Catchup, even though the EPG itself is acting up because of this provider-side issue with it (the provider is aware, by the way).

  • All people reporting issues, please write also your provider connection in the report, this is very important for reproducing and research.

    Tested now with three different RCU`s on all channels , Favorites and own created group, no issue. Test again with slower button press.

    Did you check also "Cloud Timeshift"?

    Couldn’t tell you what version of the XCodes API our provider uses. Only thing I know is that my neighbour has the exact same issues today as myself, whilst he is running the older version of the firmware as well as MOL2. I’m keeping him there for now, so as to have a control should I discover anything else. I know that everything worked fine before today for the both of us, but, as I’ve said, I currently feel that our provider is at fault here; not Formuler or its software. At present, there is nothing we can do but wait for this service disruption to be dealt with by the provider.

    hi, it is precisely the z8 which changed the Date to 2017 on its own after the last update, so to solve this problem, you have to set the Date and time automatically via the network because if you do not do it and that we leave in manual, each time, the date changes on its own in 2017, because of that, we don't know how to install an application via the playstore or aptoide, epg worries too, I am thinking of a bug from the last update


    salut , justement c est la z8 qui a changé la Date a 2017 toute seule après la dernière mise à jour, donc pour régler ce soucis , obligé de mettre la Date et heure en auto via le réseau car si on le fait pas et qu'on laisse en manuel,a chaque fois ,la date change toute seule en 2017,a cause de ça, on sait pas installé d application via le playstore ou aptoide, soucis d epg aussi,je pense à un beug de la dernière mise à jour

  • OK, j'ai donc franchi le pas et mis à jour ma box avec les nouvelles versions de firmware / MOL. Tout fonctionne comme prévu, sauf :

    • Je n'ai pas de données EPG (déjà effacé le cache EPG; cela semble coïncider avec une interruption de service chez mon fournisseur, donc pas de réel mal pour le moment)
    • Le rattrapage ne fonctionne pas. Si je vais à la vue EPG unique pour une chaîne qui a activé le rattrapage, je reçois une liste de programmes pour les jours jusqu'à hier (voir ci-dessus, pas de mal encore). Cependant, la prochaine fois que j'essaye de jouer à l' un des programmes que j'aimerais voir par rattrapage, je reçois un message disant: Aucun EPG pris en charge. Est-ce également lié au problème ci-dessus? Seulement si j'utilise une autre application, cela fonctionne très bien (c'est-à-dire que l'EPG a les mêmes problèmes partout, mais je peux toujours utiliser le rattrapage pour regarder des programmes qui ont été diffusés avant aujourd'hui)

    Je vais vérifier auprès de mon voisin (qui n'a pas encore mis à jour sa boîte) pour voir si ce deuxième problème les affecte également. Cependant, comme ce n'est en aucun cas la première fois que nous avons une interruption de l'EPG côté fournisseur, mais que nous avons (presque) toujours été en mesure d'utiliser le rattrapage pendant de telles périodes, je crains que quelque chose n'ait changé dans la gestion d'EPG et / ou programme de rattrapage en MOL2. Encore une fois, Smarters IPTV Pro, par exemple, ne me permet d'utiliser Rattrapage, même si l'EPG est lui - même agit à cause de cette question fournisseur côté avec elle (le fournisseur connaît, par ailleurs).

    l’Heure et date sont correctes — le système dit que c’est l’année 2020 en tous les endroits que j’ai vu. Je vais redémarrer le système une fois (ou au moins verser le « cache » de la guide électronique), parce que mon fournisseur dit que l’interruption du service de la guide électronique est terminée et je l’ai vérifié dans un autre logiciel.

    It turns out that the EPG issue I was having, was indeed caused server’s end (i.e. it rested with the provider). Everything is working as it should now.

    Any word yet on the resumption of Widevine L1 DRM rollout?

    Since the last update I have an hdcp 2.2 conflict because my television is hd.

    I have read the posts before about this but

    are there any plans to fix the hdcp problem in a future update?

    It's a shame that we can't restore old firmware.

    Well, in that case you’d better stress the urgency of the matter, as there are blatant mistakes in the Dutch translation. I can live with the fact that it’s not 100% complete, as new features have been added to the system and its software since the original Dutch translation was carried out and verified, but there are also some — to put it mildly — very strange word choices in there. That would be fine for a free, open source application, but not for hardware which is sold in stores and has a justified sense of professional development to it. As you’ve pointed out more than once before, it takes years to develop the hardware and software for each box. So I can imagine you would want nothing less than perfection. Unfortunately the Dutch translation has slid far from that mark and, frankly, could blemish your reputation. I tend to use the English language for most if not all electronics in my household, but that obviously cannot be said for everyone. And even from the relatively short amount of time I spent navigating the system in Dutch, I could accumulate a vast number of issues with its translation.

    Look, I get that the functional workings of the software (i.e. does everything work as intended) are much more important than a translation’s level of accuracy, but it still needs addressing, in my opinion. So, with regards to importance, I’d really set this in the medium range at the least. I’ll wait patiently for you to get the green light, though. Can’t do much else without it, now, can I?
